Our second Eurocamp trip, this time to Camping Fabulous Village just outside Rome. Probably more suited to smaller kids as there aren’t really any big slides but there’s 2 nice sized pools and a very large knee deep only pool with climbing hill. There’s a cool water zone too with drop bucket to cool down. This trip is where we found our love for Frescobol. It’s a long story but we had a bit of a panic thinking stuff was robbed from our luggage when we arrived. We’d left it in a fairly shaky, unsecure looking shed as we arrived too early to check in and when we went to grab our bags and check in, wallets were missing! There was a big palava and we were given a little gift pack to compensate in which we found 2 Frescobol paddles. The shallow pool was perfect to perfect our game! In the end it turns out we didn’t lose the wallets at all, they were just packed away a little too safely!
We spent most of the week chilling by the pools but were missing the big slides so I had a look around for a nearby waterpark. Hydromania had all we needed and more and was a short enough taxi trip away. We don’t usually do excursions when on Eurocamp trips but when in Rome you kinda have to so the Rome by night bus tour, bookable from the campsite reception, turned out to be class. It goes from the campsite past major sights like the Colosseum and Vatican then stops in the city and you go on a guided walking tour around all the landmarks int he city then back on to the bus and home.
One of the days we tried to go to a nearby beach via public transport but failed! It ended up being just a very hot, sweaty and crowded round trip on a bus! Public transport wasn’t great.
The restaurant was particularly nice with great pizzas and the market was adequate. There’s crazy golf, volley ball and nightly entertainment too.
